Summer’s got a new dress!
My recent trip to Hawai’i was amazing and inspirational. Aside from the beautiful scenery, people, adventures and the cuisine, the fabrics were memorable for me.

I could not leave Hawai’i without bringing back a piece of that experience with me. On my birthday, the day was set aside for discovering the fabric gems of Honolulu. I was overwhelmed by the discovery and I knew right away that this dress silhouette would be the perfect tester for these beautiful prints.
My eye for creating with colour has grown over the years. It has taken my sewing to the next level and is transforming the way I am positioning my pieces to be valuable to my customers by allowing them to express themselves in colour.
These photos were done through a collaboration with some beautiful friends and another Creative in Toronto, Margot Daley Photography (Find her on instagram @margotdaleyphotography). She did some beautiful shots that were able to capture the details of the prints and the dress silhouette.
Now let’s talk about this dress. The Amshina Shift.

This dress was inspired by the Dashiki Top neckline and mirrors the ease of a pull over boxy-like fit that screams fun and chic. It also has a classic way about it that makes it a timeless silhouette that I can see through the seasons as I explore other fabrics and designs in this pattern. This dress is also flattering to all shapes making it a good candidate for a wardrobe staple. Let’s not forget the icing on the cake – it has pockets!!!
There’s a freeing way in which a shift dress transforms our confidence and is further elevated when colour is added. Don’t you think?
These prints in this design work together to make the perfect little colourful summer dress. It can be dressed up or down with heels or sneakers.

I did not shop out the stores in Hawai’i so these are limited lol. The available ones are listed already online in my shop. Shop at http://www.etsy.com/amshinaapparel π
