Handmade in a Hurry: My Creative Power break!!

Happy March!

It really takes time to make that perfected custom piece. At least for me it does as I am a bit of a perfectionist. I am still learning so very much in my sewing journey it’s unbelievable Β how many things I have attempted in the past two years from when I started almost 7 years ago. Every project is a learning experience. I kid you not.

And as you all can see from my shared projects I do take some risks here and there. πŸ™‚ I guess my vision continues to supersede my natural abilities which in the end brings me to the finished product! πŸ™‚

So back to my subject and the message in this quick post. While I do take my time to make a special order it seems my wardrobe is evolving fast in between projects. hahah…What do I mean by that? Β I have discovered over the last bit Β with the right thread in the machine and some fabric handy I am willing to take that 15 -25 minutes to make a quick skirt or dress just for myself. Oh yeah! handmade in a hurry. I amaze me. πŸ™‚ I do serge and all too. It’s not sloppy work at all, in my opinion there is just a rush of adrenaline on these 20 mins project that I have to stop and wonder at times why others take more time. But then I realize it’s the perfection streak in me that causes me to slow down and take my time on the special pieces as I want my very best to be put forth. Also that 15-20 mins project break is in fact a power nap in the grant scheme of things. Only problem is I am not closing my eyes but I am shifting from one project to the next to keep the momentum going and coming back refreshed. I can truly say it does refreshes me. See my two latest Creative Power Break Β outcomes below! πŸ™‚

It is my goal this year to incorporate more of my own pieces in my wardrobe so at least I have started right. I should give my self credit for the quick pieces now, Β I doubt my first blazer will take me 20 mins.hahahaha

For my sewing enthusiasts that sew for others occasionally or on a regular basis I would love to know if youΒ spend as much time on your own pieces versus a custom piece? Also Do you take Creative Power Breaks?

I am curious to know. πŸ™‚

Hope you enjoyed this quick snippet!

Just keep sewing, just keep sewing.. what do I do I sew sew….

Until next time
